![]() ![]() The paint has held up beautifully and I am currently working on more furniture pieces using various colors from this line. I used the clear coat from this line and was pleased. A clear protectant coat is recommended, especially for surfaces that will be used or be in contact with liquids. The paint was very forgiving when pesky bugs and little tree leaves blew onto the surface while painting. Humidity will increase drying time and make the project slightly tacky or sticky, so low humidity, low wind, 60s/ 70s temperatures would be ideal. I finished 5 pieces using 8 cans of spray, in a little over 2 hours, including drying time. The charcoal color is a steely black.a couple shades from pure black, more of an old chalkboard color. I found this paint applied best appx 4-5” from the surface. Be patient and apply a second coat as needed. To avoid paint pooling, use long, even strokes, starting and finishing each “stroke” slightly beyond the end of your surface. ![]() SHAKE the can well and continue shaking lightly during use to avoid spatters and drips. I did not experience any issue with paint odor or drips. I applied the chalked paint on a fairly windy, mid-humidity day, outdoors. We also sell Rust-Oleum’s Epoxy Shield paints, their toughest coating yet. And the ergonomic design makes it easier on your fingers and supplies a well-fitting grip. This exciting new line of spray paints can be applied to any and all surfaces. Just a quick Dawn and water wipe down and rinse then dry. At, we also offer Rust-Oleum’s Universal paint. I used the Charcoal color to refurbish a cheap vintage yellow oak dining table set I got off of Craigslist for a temporary set in our asunroom. Very happy with the chalked spray paint! I have used most of the brands of chalk paint through the years for various projects and this is my new favorite! Super easy, super fast, even application. ![]()
